TRAINEESHIPS
While still at school Year 11 and Year 12 students can complete a work based SHB20216 Certificate II in Salon Assistant or complete up to 40% of a SHB30416 Certificate III in Hairdressing. The model commonly used is for the student to undertake the traineeship at the salon one day per week. MIG Training delivers the formal part of the traineeship program providing training at school, college or the workplace. SCHOOL PROGRAMS
MIG Training deliver a school program at our college campus and the YMCA School. The program includes a 40 week SHB20216 Certificate II in Salon Assistant. Students have the option in Year 12 to continue on and complete an additional 40 weeks of study toward a SHB30416 Certificate III in Hairdressing. The program provides a clear path for students to enter an apprenticeship with up to 40% of the trade qualification completed.
VOCATIONAL EDUCATION AND TRAINING IN SCHOOLS (VETiS)
Vocational Education and Training in Schools (VETiS) focuses on delivering qualifications to provide school students with the skills and knowledge required for employment in specific industries.
MIG delivers:
SHB20216 – Certificate II in Salon Assistant: This qualification provide the skills and knowledge for people wanting pursue a work in a salon assisting with client services.
SIR20216 – Certificate II in Retail Services: This qualification provides a pathway to work in a diverse range of retail settings including specialty retailers, supermarkets, department stores and quick service restaurants.
SCHOLARSHIPS
Through our school network, MIG Training offer a select number of SHB20216 Certificate II in Salon Assistant scholarships each year. These scholarships are undertaken at college over a 12 week duration . The scholarship program is strongly supported by our salon community with many graduates going on to apprenticeships after graduation.
