The Brisbane Hair & Beauty Expo (BHBE) continues to gain momentum each year, and one of the most exciting elements of this event is the live hair competition arena that showcases some of the industry’s best talents. Last year the competitions had a huge increase in entries, as local stylists seized the opportunity to demonstrate their hairdressing skills in front of a live audience. Once again, Matters in Gray Training is proudly managing the entire competition schedule.
Held at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre, the BHBE will take place on Sunday 29 July and Monday 30 July. The hair competitions are split into two programs – The Sunshine Pro Series and The Barber Series. The programs run over two days, with separate divisions available for seniors and students/apprentices as listed below, so there is an opportunity for hairdressers of all skill levels to compete.

There is also another new category, the Pre-Event Online Hair Photographic Competition, whereby entrants can submit one photographic image online in either a Ladies Total Look (Open) or Men’s Total Look (Open).
The Sunshine Pro Series and Barber Pro Series platforms provide the opportunity to receive industry recognition and potentially propel your career to the next level. Given the growth in numbers for these hair competitions in 2017 from the previous year, we recommend you register early to ensure you don’t miss out! Entries open on Wednesday 4th April.
